Influence of Oyster Shell Pyrolysis Temperature on Sediment Permeability and Remediation

Permeability is an important aspect of sediment remediation. It well-known that oyster shells can be used for remediation, however the influence pyrolysis temperature on permeability remains unknown. In this study, we examined and remediation using crushed less than 5 mm in size were pyrolyzed at 350 °C (POS350) 600 (POS600) six hours. Based results variable head test, POS600 has greater POS350. addition, POS350 to reduce dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN; NH3-N, NO2-N, NO3-N) phosphate (PO4-P) from organically enriched because its higher Ca2+ elution. conclusion, more effective °C. This finding true transformation CaCO3 CaO, which source Ca2+, stimulates pore water flow. these findings, it concluded are beneficial increasing permeability, thereby helping sediments.
